I can hardly believe that school is starting back up here in Atlanta next week. For some reason, it always makes me feel as though summer’s drawing to close, when the reality is that we still have many more months of warm weather to go! So I’ll try to resist the temptation to start stocking up on cozy fall sweaters for a while, and enjoy my summer wardrobe for a bit longer. I recently picked up this fabulous pair of high-waisted white jeans that I wanted to share with you all.
I don’t really understand all the rules to do with white. There’s no Labor Day where I grew up in Britain, so I didn’t even know about that one before moving to the US. To be honest, I love wearing my white jeans all year round, but nothing screams summer more than some crisp white denim!
The main downside to white denim as far as I’m concerned is that it can pick up dirt easily, but with two little kids in tow, that’s the case for almost anything I wear. I’ve reached the stage where I’m ok with ignoring the odd splash of juice or chocolate smudge on my clothes (the chocolate could equally be me, haha).
The other difficulty is fit. Why is it so much more difficult to find a great fitting pair of white jeans than regular blue jeans?! I tried on A LOT of different pairs before I found these. They’re a little but of a splurge, but worth it in my opinion.
I must admit that I resisted the high-waist jean trend for a long while – I just wasn’t sure that it would suit me. But I’d heard great things about these jeans, so thought I should give them a try. I was NOT disappointed! They’re a nice weight and quality denim. Te cut gives the illusion of longer legs, which is great for a shorty like me. They have a bit of stretch, but not too much. Oh and they’re not at all see-through!
To complete the outfit, I paired them with this bright and breezy top and some fun accessories. I rarely wear heels nowadays, but these block heel sandals are surprisingly comfy. And my cute little bag seems to go with everything!
