Well the countdown to Christmas is well and truly on and I’m not feeling ready AT ALL! We might be the last people on earth to put up our tree, and I can’t even think about all the presents I still need to buy. I can expect to spend this week frantically mailing out cards to make sure they make it across the pond in time. One of these years I’ll nail being organized… just not this year!
In the meantime my kids are excitedly opening up the little doors on their advent calendars every morning – one of many holiday traditions that I just loved myself and am happy to be passing down. There’s something about Christmas that always makes me feel particularly nostalgic about England. So for that reason I decided to put together a gift guide that celebrates all things British! Hopefully it’ll spur me into action too 🙂
This is the only gift guide I plan on sharing this holiday season, so I’ve tried to include something for everybody. All of the gift ideas featured are available here in the US or can be shipped from the UK (to the best of my knowledge) for a reasonable cost.A few particular favorites I want to mention:
- Molton Brown makes the BEST bath and body products. Fact. The scents are just wonderful and the quality is excellent (you can often find their products in fancy hotels). This season’s gift sets are particularly nice. My Mum usually sends me some Molton Brown body wash every Christmas and I’m hoping that she doesn’t forget this year!
- A nice pair of Hunter wellies has been on my own wish list for quite some time now, and they’re possibly even more adorable in little! Definitely a splurge, but so oh cute. These come in loads of different colors and would be perfect for the snowy days we’re expecting.
- Almost everyone I know in England owns a Dualit toaster. Not only will it toast your bread to perfection (check out the reviews!), but you can also pick one up in a shade to match almost any kitchen color scheme imaginable!
I’ve added links for all of my top picks below.
