When it comes to clothes, is there anything much sweeter than sweater weather? Or jumper weather, depending on which side of the pond you’re from?? Either way, (and bad pun aside) I do love an excuse to bundle up in a nice, cozy sweater. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that I’ve already accumulated quite a few this season – so many so that my husband is starting to get suspicious about all the shipments that keep arriving – aghh! 🙂
But I do have a good excuse though. I’m one of those people that feels cold almost ALL of the time (even in the summer – thanks air conditioning!). So my own personal sweater season lasts for a long time and I’ll get plenty of wear out of them all. That’s how I justify it anyhow!
Since I’ve been shopping like a mad lady and keeping a keen eye out for all of the lovely new arrivals, I thought I’d put together a round-up of my current favorite sweaters for fall and winter.
A few particular trends I’ve noticed so far this season:
- Fair isle sweaters are everywhere – both in traditional monochrome and also with fun, bright colors. I bought a very similar one to this last year and love it
- Also popular are stripes and color-block. There are so many great options available and you can find almost any color combination
- Tunic length and oversized sweaters seem to be having a moment right now. I think it’s because they pair so perfectly with leggings, and is there anything more comfy and cozy than a great pair of leggings as the temps drop??
- Finally, the more classic styles such as cable knit and turtleneck are still all over the shops too. Now that we can find them in ultra-soft knits and more flattering cuts, they’re difficult to say no to!
